Artificial hands
What an artificial hand can be
An artificial hand replaces a hand lost at the wrist, or most of a hand. It can be a passive silicone hand that looks natural and helps you hold and steady things, or a working hand on a below elbow arm that opens and closes.
Silicone hands start from Rs 50,000 for a stock hand with a matched glove, and from about Rs 150,000 for a custom hand cast from your own. Most are ready in two or three visits.

Who a silicone hand suits
A silicone hand is about appearance and light help. It is not a tool for heavy work.

Daily life
Living with a silicone hand
A few habits keep the hand looking natural for longer.
Wash with mild soap and water and dry well; avoid ink, newsprint and dyed fabrics that stain.
Silicone can be washed, so many users keep the hand on. Dry it well afterwards.
Keep it away from stoves, irons and hot car dashboards.
Silicone hands usually look their best for a few years with normal care.

See your doctor first if
- The wound is open, weeping or smells
- There is redness, heat or swelling at the wrist
- You have a fever or feel unwell
- You have new burning pain or numbness in the stump
- The scar is tender and breaks down easily
Once the skin is healed and your doctor is happy, we can cast for the hand.

Questions
Artificial hand questions
Ask anything else on WhatsApp or call +92 337 8414002, day or night.
How much does an artificial hand cost in Pakistan?
A stock silicone hand starts from Rs 50,000. A custom silicone hand cast from your own hand and coloured to match usually costs Rs 150,000 to 450,000.
Can an artificial hand move?
A silicone hand does not move on its own. Working hands that open and close are fitted on a below elbow arm, either body-powered or myoelectric.
How close will the colour match be?
We mix and check colours against your skin in daylight. Custom hands match very closely; stock hands are matched to the nearest shade.
How long does a silicone hand last?
Usually a few years with normal care. Stains, heat and sharp edges shorten its life.
Can I wear rings or a watch?
Yes, light jewellery is fine. Avoid tight bands that dig into the silicone for long periods.
Is it comfortable in summer?
Silicone can feel warm. Take it off for short breaks and keep the skin underneath clean and dry.
