Cost

About cost

How much is an artificial leg in Karachi?

Below knee legs start from Rs 80,000 and above knee legs from Rs 150,000, rising with imported parts. See the price guide for every level.

How much is an artificial arm in Karachi?

Cosmetic below elbow arms start from Rs 60,000, body-powered arms from Rs 140,000 and myoelectric arms from Rs 650,000.

Is the estimate free?

Yes. The assessment and the written estimate cost nothing.

Do I pay extra for training?

No. Walking or grip training is part of every limb we fit.

Fitting

About fitting

How many visits does a limb need?

Two or three for fingers and silicone hands, three to five for most legs and arms, and more for hips and myoelectric arms.

What happens at the first visit?

We examine the stump, check strength and movement, and explain the options and likely price. Often we can take the cast the same day.

Is it too late if the amputation was years ago?

No. Many people are fitted years later, and many come to us for a better fitting limb than the one they have.

Do you make limbs for both legs?

Yes. Fitting both sides takes more visits and training, and we plan it carefully with you.

Daily life

About daily life

Can I sleep with my limb on?

No. Take it off at night so the skin can rest, and check the stump before bed.

Can I ride a motorbike or drive?

Many people do after training, sometimes with simple car adaptations. Ask us and check the rules before driving.

Will people notice my limb?

Under trousers or a shalwar, most legs are hard to spot. Silicone hands and fingers are matched to your skin.

What if the limb starts to hurt after months?

The stump has probably changed shape. Call us; often a pad, liner or new socket fixes it.

Children and families

About children and families abroad

Can babies be fitted?

Yes. Many babies get a first leg when they pull up to stand, or a light hand when they start sitting up.

How often do children need new limbs?

Usually a socket change or lengthening each year or so while they grow fast.

Can relatives abroad handle the planning?

Yes. Photos, questions and the estimate can all be handled on WhatsApp, with the patient coming in person for the visits.

Can you send updates to family abroad?

Ask us at the first visit how you would like to be kept informed, and we will agree it with the patient.
