What we make

Two kinds of limb, one clinic

Legs and arms are built very differently. A leg has to carry your weight all day; an arm has to grip, hold and look natural. We make both, and we tell you honestly which option suits your life.

Components

Knees, feet and hands from the makers you have heard of

  • Ottobock
  • Össur
  • Blatchford
  • Proteor
  • Fillauer
  • Hosmer
  • College Park
  • Steeper
  • Jaipur Foot

We import and fit parts from these makers to order when a patient needs them, and we are independent of every one of them. The advice is about your stump and your day, not a sales target.

Questions

What families ask us most

Still unsure? Call +92 337 8414002 at any hour or send a WhatsApp message.

How much does an artificial leg cost in Pakistan?

Below knee legs start from Rs 80,000 and above knee legs from Rs 150,000. The knee and foot decide the rest: a below knee leg with imported parts can pass Rs 900,000, and an above knee leg with a microprocessor knee goes well past Rs 2,500,000. The free assessment tells you where in the range your leg sits.

How much does an artificial arm or hand cost?

Silicone fingers start from Rs 25,000 and a silicone hand from Rs 50,000. A cosmetic below elbow arm starts from Rs 60,000 and a body-powered one with a hook or working hand from Rs 140,000. Above elbow arms start from Rs 220,000 and myoelectric arms from Rs 650,000, with imported multi-grip hands costing several times more.

How soon after amputation can I be fitted?

Usually once the wound has fully healed and the swelling has settled, which is often six to eight weeks after surgery and longer after a diabetic amputation. Arms can sometimes be fitted a little sooner. We check the stump at the assessment rather than guess on the phone.

How many visits will it take?

Most limbs take three to five visits: the assessment, casting, a test socket, the final fitting and training. Hip level legs, legs for both sides and myoelectric arms need more. If you are travelling from another city, tell us your dates and we will bunch the visits together where the stump allows.

Is a myoelectric (bionic) arm right for me?

It can be, if the muscles in your forearm or upper arm give clear signals, you can charge the battery every night and you have patience for a few weeks of training. A body-powered arm is lighter, cheaper and tougher for heavy work. We test your muscle signals before we recommend either.

Will the new limb hurt?

Some pressure and tiredness are normal in the first weeks while the skin toughens. Sharp pain, red marks that have not faded twenty minutes after taking the limb off, or any broken skin are not normal. Call us and we will adjust the socket.

Can I pray namaz and do wudu with an artificial limb?

Yes. Many leg users stand for qiyam with the leg on and sit for ruku and sajda when the knee will not bend far enough. A leg that comes off quickly, or a waterproof leg, makes wudu easier. Silicone hands and fingers can be washed with soap and water.

Do you see patients from other cities and from abroad?

Yes. Families come to the clinic from interior Sindh, Balochistan and abroad. Call or WhatsApp first with photos, plan the trip with us, and a son or daughter overseas can handle the questions and the estimate on WhatsApp while the patient comes in person.
